This is a shot of a Blue Morpho (Morpho Pelides) butterfly in the process of inflating and drying its wings.  It is amazing to think that this butterfly has crammed into a significantly smaller pupa before it emerged.

I can highly recommend the Butterflies of the World exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London.  Its great for kids and pretty good for photography, though it may leave you wishing you had a 100mm macro lens…
